Make Collage Art

Sunday, November 26 – 10.30am to 12.30pm

Learn how to make stunning botanical collages to take home with guest tutor and professional, Alice Lindstrom. You will learn cut and paste techniques, composition and how to use collage in a painterly way by using materials such as coloured card, painted paper, glue scissors and board. Learn valuable skills to get you started at home and create your own piece of magic.

Workshop Includes: Card and paper to work on, glue sticks, coloured card and painted paper, palettes for glue, brushes and Stanley knives.

Skill Level: Students need to know basic composition and painting technique. Skill level is beginner to intermediate.

Design Beautiful Collage Christmas Cards

Sunday, November 26 –1.30pm to 3.30pm

There’s nothing better than receiving homemade cards for Christmas. Learn to make beautiful collage Christmas cards with professional, Alice Lindstrom, to give to your family and friends. Create striking images using paper craft, scissors, glue and coloured paper. Make a card that can be framed, admired and appreciated this Christmas.

Workshop Includes: Reference imagery, blank cards, coloured paper and palettes.

Skill Level: Students need to know basic composition and painting technique. Skill level is beginner to intermediate.

Class Cost: $75

Students Bring: An apron, scissors, and a glass jar for water.

Meet Alice Lindstrom

Alice Lindstrom completed a Bachelor of Design at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney, before moving to Adelaide to graduate with a Masters of Museum Studies and a Graduate Diploma in Art History from the University of Adelaide.

Alice now lives in Melbourne and is a freelance illustrator. She works primarily in paper collage, using traditional cut and paste techniques. Alice also uses watercolour and digital media to create some of her images.

Alice is passionate about creating playful illustrations for both children and adults that are rich in narrative, character and meaning and explore themes relating to nature and femininity. Her aesthetic draws on diverse influences, including picture book illustrators from her childhood, Medieval and folk imagery as well as twentieth century design and
Modern art movements.
