MEET LYN TRAN

At draw&explore, we believe in reviving the lost art of hand lettering, and we’re about to unleash pretty papery goodness on Melbournians and beyond. draw&explore is a Melbourne based design studio, and began as a way for designer and owner Lyn Tran to record her hand lettering journey as she travelled the globe in search of inspiration. She fell head over heels for Japan, and quickly became infatuated with their incredible craftsmanship and passion for beautiful handmade items. It’s no surprise that Lyn loved Japan so much that she decided to move there, where, in a tiny mansion in the heart of Osaka, she studied paper making, craft and calligraphy, and dreamt of the day she could do this for a living. Fast forward five years, and Lyn has transformed this knowledge of hand lettering and print techniques into an unmistakable design style. She loves combining playful hand lettering, typography, illustration, unique print techniques and materials to create fun designs for weddings, events and custom projects. She also loves strawberry glazed doughnuts, but that’s a story for another day.
