Wild Baskets • 9.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4.30pm

Join Judith and Richard Wolski as they show you how to make your own ‘wild basket’. Wild Baskets have successfully used destructive weed vines for many years to make the most amazing baskets, which ignite huge interest when it’s disclosed these beautiful, functional works of art started as invasive and destructive plants. You will make a traditional shaped bowl basket – wheel and spoke method – which is a useful and unique work of art, while being eco-friendly. You will also learn about the best materials to use and how to collect and store them to create many more at home. Basket weaving with natural fibres is the individual’s creative extension of an age old traditional craft. It is challenging and fun to try new natural readily available materials.

Workshop includes: All plant materials are supplied to make a large sized round basket, plus detailed instructions and plant lists of materials to source from the garden.

Skill level: All levels

Students bring: We recommend student wear clothes that can get dirty as the process is a bit messy – aprons are useful – and bring along secateurs if you have them. Scissors are provided.

Class cost: $55*
