Create a Shibori Silk Scarf

A two-hour class held daily at: 11am to 1pm and 1.30 to 3.30pm

Introductory level, no experience necessary, ideal for all ages and levels

Fee: $65 per student (includes all materials: silk scarf, use of indigo dye vats and tools, notes on techniques and processes, PLUS a fat quarter of pfd (prepared for dyeing) fabric to take home for your next project.

Join Jane in this class designed to teach the skill and technique of shibori dyeing. You will learn how to use different techniques for different outcomes – binding, concertina finger folding, tying, etc. Indigo vats will be used for dyeing your unique silk scarf. Jane will give you a comprehensive description of the entire process and in addition to your scarf, you will receive a fat quarter of pfd fabric to take home.

Students to bring: an old apron or plastic poncho and rubber gloves to protect clothes and hands; a plastic snap-lock bag to transport your wet scarf and an old towel.
